The Allentown Preservation League is dedicated to promoting the preservation and restoration of historically and architecturally significant structures and sites throughout the City of Allentown.

Our Story

The League was founded in 1991 as a 501(c)3 nonprofit by a group of citizens dedicated to focusing attention on the architectural heritage of the City of Allentown. In 2006 we moved our organization to its current location, the second floor of Sam Traylor's Motor Garage (which supported the Traylor Hotel) located at 15th and Walnut Streets in Allentown that we lovingly refer to as “The Warehouse.”

It is our goal that by recirculating salvaged architectural items within the community we will both foster a citywide conversation on preservation–restoration and help reduce the environmental impact of the built environment on the natural environment.

The League’s Warehouse stocks a wide array of salvaged building materials that include doors, moldings, windows, door knobs, blinds, shutters, light fixtures, and much more.
